About This Class
Yoga Nidra translates as 'Yogic Sleep'. It is a progressive form of conscious relaxation that guides the body and mind into a deeply restorative state through meditation.
In effect it bypasses the early stages of ordinary sleep, bringing practitioners directly into the restorative delta brainwave state of the deepest stage of sleep. One hour of Yoga Nidra is often considered equivalent to four hours of deep sleep - ideal for anyone seeking the three R's: rejuvenation, restoration and replenishment of the central nervous system.
The class finishes with a sound bath of Tibetan singing bowls, whose healing vibrations calm the nervous system and support emotional and energetic harmony. Open to all levels and every physical ability.

Common Questions
Do I need to know how to meditate?
No. You simply follow the instructor's voice; the guided practice does the work for you.
Can I fall asleep during class?
Falling lightly asleep is common and perfectly fine - deep rest is the whole point of Yoga Nidra.
Is it really enough to count as practice?
Yes. One hour of Yoga Nidra is often compared to several hours of deep sleep for restoring the nervous system.
